Summer patio season is here! Those are the words Chicagoans typically wait all winter to hear. This year, of course, is different.
After months of stay-at-home orders and the shutdown of restaurants, news that outdoor dining would return, with restrictions, in Illinois has been met with enthusiasm –– and trepidation. Restaurants have worked to ease customer concerns and by state and muncipal regulations are required to space tables, limit party sizes, have staff wear masks and sanitize surfaces frequently, along with other safety percautions.
Patios are open now in the suburbs and opening June 3 in the city. Below, you’ll find a running list of sortable outdoor dining options. If you are a restaurant owner with a patio or rooftop, please add your information to our list here. For more details on how to submit your listing, check here.
