Isabel Basgall, 100, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La Crosse, Kansas.
Isabel was born April 19, 1920, on the family farm in rural La Crosse, Kansas, the daughter of Jacob M. and Mary (Heronema) Herrman. She was a life long resident of Rush County, Kansas. She was a homemaker and retired after working 25 years in the laundry department at the Rush County Memorial Hospital, La Crosse, Kansas.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, and St. Michael’s Altar Society, both of La Crosse, Kansas.
On April 24, 1946, she married Victor Basgall at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Liebenthal, Kansas. He preceded her in death December 10, 1997.
Survivors include: her son, Dale Basgall, Maui, Hawaii; eight grandchildren; and three brothers, Paul Herrman, La Crosse, Kansas, Ralph Herrman, Ames, Iowa; and Edward Herrman, Seattle, Washington; and one sister, Ruth Risser, La Crosse, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Leonard Herrman, and Reverend Gilbert Herrman; and five sisters, Esther Boxler, Edna Mehl, Irene Raniszewski, Pauline Sutton, and Abbie Rupp.
A memorial service will be Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas, with Father Stephen Dabanka officiating. Inurnment will be in La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas.
