The Elmbrook School District has been ranked top dog for school districts in the state of Wisconsin by Niche.

Niche, an online rankings site, ranks schools, companies and neighborhoods based on reviews, report cards and rankings and other factors. Schools are ranked based on their academics, diversity, teachers, college prep, clubs and activities, health and safety, administration, sports, food and resources and facilities.

Other Now News Group school districts joined Elmbrook in the top 10, including Whitefish Bay, Mequon-Thiensville, Shorewood, Greendale, Cedarburg and Pewaukee.

“We are proud of our great school district and appreciative of the external recognition from niche.com,” said Elmbrook Chief Strategy Officer Chris Thompson.

Through its rankings, Thompson said Niche attempts to share a broader story beyond student achievement, and Elmbrook recognizes the value of combining those results with stakeholder feedback.

“We are humbled that so many of our students and families choose to share their positive experiences online, and we recognize the power of their words and opinions in influencing others seeking to move to our community,” he said.

“Our staff members work diligently every day to do their best to meet student needs. We are also inspired by how our students come to school eager and ready to learn,” Kiltz said. “This is all made possible by tremendous support from our families and the greater Greendale community that takes great pride in our schools and advocates for student success with high expectations for our work.”

Greendale has 2,664 students in grades prekindergarten through 12, according to Niche, and a student-teacher ratio of 15-to-1.

Kiltz said while the district appreciates the Niche ranking, there are many other ways Greendale measures student success.
