Sinclair College reduces textbook costs for College Credit Plus students

DAYTON — The Sinclair College Board of Trustees is reducing the price of the textbooks for high schoolers participating in the College Credit Plus (CCP) program.

This marked the eighth year in a row that the college lowered the cost for CCP students.

This year the Trustees approved $350,000 in price reductions for the its 142 CCP partner high schools.

According to a release, CCP is Ohio’s dual-enrollment program. Students in grades 7-12 have the opportunity to take college courses for free and earn both high school and college credit.

“One of the most significant costs impacting school districts is textbooks and, in an effort to lessen that burden for our CCP partners, Sinclair’s Board of Trustees proudly approved this funding,” Amy Barker, Chair of the Sinclair College Board of Trustees, said.

Baker said Sinclair also offers CCP tuition rates at the lowest level allowed under Ohio’s regulations.

There are more 8,100 students are enrolled in CCP at Sinclair last school year. They earned a total of 61,000 credit hours.
