Allianz provides roadside assistance to long distance EV attempt

Allianz Partners is supporting AIWAYS’ attempt at the longest ever point-to-point drive of a prototype electric vehicle by providing roadside assistance over the 8,843 mile journey.

The attempt began on 17 July when two U5 electric SUVs departed from Xi’an, China, set to arrive in Frankfurt, Germany, in early September.

Sylvie Ouziel, CEO assistance and APAC at Allianz Partners, said: “At Allianz Partners, we strive to offer our customers high-tech, high-touch products and services including roadside assistance and mobility solutions.

“We are thrilled to support this epic journey from East to West, and will work together closely with our new strategic partner AIWAYS to make the drivers’ experience more secure and more convenient, anytime and anywhere.”

AIWAYS will be the first Chinese brand to bring electric SUVs to Europe, with the U5 launching in Europe in April 2020, including in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Norway and France.

Aside from trans-continental journeys, Allianz Partners UK recently launched a bespoke Service Plan programme for Mazda dealers.

Mazda dealers can now offer Mazda-branded Service Plans alongside its Approved Used Car Warranty and roadside assistance, also provided by Allianz.

The Service Plan ensures the use of Mazda Genuine Parts, strengthening customer confidence in the Mazda brand.

Customers get a flexible monthly payment option to help budget for servicing. It also locks in the price over three years, bringing cost efficiencies for customers.
