CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Corpus Christi police have found the body of a man who was at least missing for three months.

The discovery was made around 4:00 pm Tuesday inside of a field off of Saratoga Road in between Staples Street and Cimarron Boulevard.

Lieutenant Art Trevino, with the Corpus Christi police department, said police received a phone call about the discovery of a body near a homeless campsite. When officers arrived, they found the body of a man, who has not been identified.

"Based on some family members, who were also looking for this individual, we believe the body might have been there for at least three months already, "Lt. Trevino said.

Officers can not determine if the man died of suspicious or natural causes.

"We have not been able to determine the cause of death because of how far it is. That is something the medical examiner's office is going to determine," Trevino said.
