FRANKFORT, Ky (WEHT) Governor Andy Beshear outlines plans for reopening child care facilities in Kentucky.

In-home child care programs can reopen on June 8. Center-based licensed child care programs can reopen to all families on June 15.

The state guidance says there should only be 10 children per group, and kids must stay in the same group, with the same staff all day.

State guidance does ask that programs should stagger playground time among groups, eliminate center-wide family events, eliminate field trips, and use a centralized drop-off/pick-up locations to prevent unnecessary traffic to classrooms.

To help families with children who would be on free/reduced lunch at school, the state is adding $313.50 per student to the accounts of qualifying families. The includes families on SNAP and Medicaid.
