Cobb County Opens COVID-19 Vaccine Call Center

COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County residents struggling to make COVID-19 vaccination appointments can finally get some help from the county's new vaccine call center.

Cobb County opened its COVID-19 vaccine call center Monday, just over a month after Cobb commissioners approved a $2 million contract for the call center at the March 9 board meeting. The call center is funded through Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act money passed by Congress in December, and was established by the Cobb Emergency Management Agency.

“Our call center will enable us to better serve Cobb residents by helping people who have had questions about or issues with scheduling vaccines,” Cobb Chairwoman Lisa Cupid said in a news release. “Hopefully this effort will help more people get vaccinated and help Cobb County get back to pre-pandemic life as fast as possible.”

Residents can call 833-974-3366 or use the chat feature Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The chat feature can be accessed on the CDPH's website and through Cobb County's COVID-19 section of the website.

Operators can help residents schedule appointments through CDPH sites, as well as walk them through the process of scheduling appointments at Georgia Emergency Management Agency mass vaccination sites and private locations offering the vaccines.

English- and Spanish-speaking agents are available, with language line services available for those who speak other languages, the release said.

“Cobb and Douglas Public Health is so thankful to Cobb County Government for launching this call center during the pandemic,” CDPH District Health Director Dr. Janet Memark said in the release. “We appreciate the partnership and will continue to provide the support needed for its success. It gives our residents an expanded local resource for COVID[-19]-related questions and allows public health staff to stay focused on providing vaccinations and resolving outbreaks.”
