CHAIRMAN of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF) Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayyat stressed that the announcement by the Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Mixed Martial Arts Organization (KHK MMA) of the first private mixed martial arts promotion in the Middle East under the title of Brave Combat Federation is important for the sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the march of progress toward the game globally.
Al Khayat expressed confidence in the event being a success on organisational, informational and audience levels because of the capabilities and qualifications that Bahrain offers.
He also pointed out that the Brave Combat Federation is capable of holding various regional and international championships in all respects, noting that this platform will enhance the Kingdom’s prestige on the international sports map for the sport of mixed martial arts.
Success
Al Khayat added that the BMMAF is keen on supporting the Brave Combat Federation and the organising committee for the success of this first international event of its kind in the region, expressing his pride in Bahrain becoming one of the global platforms that embraces mixed martial arts championships, a sport that has worldwide appeal.
The BMMAF Chairman pointed out that Bahrain had previously succeeded in hosting multiple events from various organisations. It hosted the Fight Night of Cage Warriors Organization and hosted one of the Desert Force tournaments.
However, Brave Combat Federation is different as the Kingdom is the organiser, which seeks to establish a global platform that attracts many fighters from different countries and give the opportunity for young Bahrainis.
It is worth mentioning that the Brave Combat Federation promotion will be held on September 23, with an elite group of professional fighters who hold top positions from the different countries in the world, the Middle East and the Arab world.
The promotion will be headlined by the much-anticipated match-up between Middle Eastern MMA superstar Mohamed Fakhreddine and Brazil’s undefeated Thiago Vieira in a welterweight showdown.
The co-main event will feature KHK MMA’s Eldar Eldarov vs Ireland’s Peter Queally.
