Over the Moon
As the month of October winds down, so does the Halloween season. Before long, the wave of Halloween-themed films that flooded our favorite streaming platforms this past month will give way to a giant November slate of films that will be much more holiday-themed.
But October still has a few days left—which means there are still several new movies to be added to services like Netflix
Here’s every one of those new films and when they will premier.
Over the Moon (Netflix)
Plot summary: An adventurous girl builds a rocket ship to meet a mythical goddess on the moon.
Over the Moon stars Cathy Ang, Phillipa Soo, Ken Jeong, John Cho, Ruthie Ann Miles, Margaret Cho and Sandra Oh. The movie was directed by Glen Keane and John Kahrs.
Over the Moon will be available to stream on Netflix on October 23.
Perdida (Netflix)
Plot summary: A policewoman investigates the disappearance of a friend in the Argentine Patagonia. She soon discovers that her own life is in danger.
Perdida stars Amaia Salamanca, Luisana Lopilato, Mara Alberto, Carlos Alcantára and Juan Ignacio Cane. The movie was directed by Alejandro Montiel.
Perdida will be available to stream on Netflix on October 23.
Bad Hair (Hulu)
Plot summary: Terror strikes when a woman's new hair weave seems to take on a life of its own.
Bad Hair stars Elle Lorraine, Jay Pharoah, Lena Waithe, Kelly Rowland, Laverne Cox, Chanté Adams, James Van Der Beek, Usher Raymond IV, Blair Underwood and Vanessa Williams. The movie was directed by Justin Simien.
Bad Hair will be available to stream on Hulu on October 23.
On the Rocks (Apple TV+)
Plot summary: A young mother who reconnects with her larger-than-life playboy father on an adventure through New York.
On the Rocks stars Bill Murray, Rashida Jones, Marlon Wayans, Jessica Henwick, Jenny Slate and Barbara Bain. The movie was directed by Sofia Coppola.
On the Rocks will be available to stream on Apple TV+ on October 23.
Emma. (HBO Max)
Plot summary: Following the antics of a young woman, Emma Woodhouse, who lives in Georgian- and Regency-era England and occupies herself with matchmaking - in sometimes misguided, often meddlesome fashion- in the lives of her friends and family.
Emma. stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Johnny Flynn, Josh O'Connor, Callum Turner, Mia Goth, Miranda Hart and Bill Nighy. The movie was directed by Autumn de Wilde.

Once Upon a Snowman (Disney+)
Plot summary: The previously untold origins of Olaf as he comes to life and searches for his identity in the snowy mountains outside Arendelle.
