McKeesport man gets more than 2 years in prison for passing counterfeit money
A McKeesport man was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh to 2½ years in prison for conspiracy to use bogus money.
U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer also ordered Bruce M. Charles, Jr., 32, to pay $9,570 in restitution to victims he paid using the counterfeit money, federal prosecutors said.
According to prosecutors, Charles conspired and passed counterfeit $100, $50, and $20 bills throughout Western Pennsylvania.
According to court records, four other people were charged with Charles. Prosecutors want them to pay a share of the almost then restitution.
