BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Brooklyn Diocese is allowing its churches to reopen Tuesday.

Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio says churches can be open for private prayer and funerals, as well as limited baptisms and weddings.

But no more than 10 people will be allowed inside at a time and face coverings must be worn.

Pastors do not have to reopen if they don't think their parishes are ready.

This is the first step in a three-step reopening process for the Brooklyn Diocese.

The second step will be resuming daily masses, and the final step will be celebrating Sunday masses.
