Prisma adding testing events this week

Prisma Health announced six additional COVID-19 community testing events this week, including three in the Upstate.

The drive-thru testing is done in partnership with DHEC and aims to reach populations who might not have access to traditional testing or online virtual visits, according to a release from Prisma Health.

Testing will be provided from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at East End Elementary in Easley.

Additional events will be held Thursday, June 4 at Gettys Middle School in Easley and Saturday, June 6, at Cherrydale Elementary School in Greenville.

The events are intended for free community testing, not physician-ordered testing for patients who already have a provider, have completed a virtual visit or need pre-surgical testing, according to the release.

Prisma Health officials also cautioned that the community testing sites are only intended for free community testing.
