Vehicle hits woman in Maud, killing her, then leaves

MAUD, Tx. (KSLA) — Authorities in East Texas are investigating after a woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle.
Officers were called at 3:30 a.m. to an area near U.S. Highway 67 and Texas Highway 8, according to Texas DPS.
From what officials were able to determine, an unknown vehicle struck a woman and then fled the scene.
The woman died at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
