Apple has applied for a new trademark in the US for its multi-color logo. Apple stopped putting the classic logo on its devices in 1999 and even with the new trademark application, that won’t be changing.
The application was filed in December and has now been assigned to an examiner. Below is the logo’s description in the application:
“The mark consists of the design of an apple with a bite removed, with a detached leaf in green, and the apple divided into horizontal colored segments of the following colors (from top to bottom): green, yellow, orange, red, violet and blue,”.

Apple says if granted the trademark, the logo can be applied to clothing apparels such as hats and caps. However, the application was filed under ITU (intent to use), so don’t get your hopes high that the Cupertino-based company is planning to toe the fashion line soon.
Apple currently uses a chrome version of the logo for its devices.
