12 COVID-19 deaths reported in Quad County area

Carson City Health and Human Services reported Thursday 12 deaths due to COVID-19 in the Quad County Region from Sept. 16 to 22.
Five deaths were in Carson City, four in Lyon County and three in Douglas County.
CCHHS also reported 619 new cases, and 178 additional recoveries of COVID-19 for the week. This brings the total number of cases to 18,477, with 14,339 recoveries and 280 deaths; 3,858 cases remain active.

Carson City had 5 deaths, 188 new cases, and 50 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Carson City is 25 new cases per day with a 11.9% test positivity rate.
Douglas County had 3 deaths, 119 new cases, and 27 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Douglas County is 15 new cases per day with a 22.1% test positivity rate.
Lyon County had 4 deaths, 301 new cases, and 100 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Lyon County is 35 new cases per day with a 23.3% test positivity rate.
Storey County had 11 new cases and 1 additional recovery of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Storey County is 0 new cases per day with a 40.7% test positivity rate.
 
COVID-19 Vaccination Update
 
As of Sept. 22, approximately 186,680 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered by Quad-County providers. CCHHS has administered 70,633 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Approximately 83,252 Quad-County residents have completed vaccination (received both doses of a 2-dose series vaccine such as Pfizer or Moderna or received the single dose Janssen vaccine) and 91,145 have initiated it (received the first dose of a 2-dose series such as Pfizer or Moderna. This number also includes those who completed the series). Data is not CCHHS’ and is taken from the Nevada Health Response Dashboard which can be found at https://nvhealthresponse.nv.gov/.
In Carson City, 32,393 residents have been completely vaccinated and 35,782 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 64.8% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Douglas County, 24,6457 residents have been completely vaccinated and 26,329 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 55.9% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Lyon County, 25,442 residents have been completely vaccinated and 28,203 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 50.8 % of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Storey County, 770 residents have been completely vaccinated and 831 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 18.8% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.

All vaccines are available on a walk-in basis at every event for first, second, and third doses for those who are immunocompromised.
