After a COVID-19 disruption last year, many fall events are back on the 2021 calendar, though there are still some holdouts.
The Hamilton County Fair, Wine Over Water, Autumn Children's Festival and the Battle of Tunnel Hill re-enactment are among the high-profile cancellations in the Chattanooga area, and the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee, is sticking to a virtual schedule again. It's possible more events may disappear from the calendar due to weather or coronavirus concerns as we go through the season.
As of now, though, these dates are on the books. The Times Free Press will give weekly updates with the latest information available, and you should check event websites or Facebook posts for any last-minute changes before traveling long distances.
These listings represent some of the larger fall- and holiday-focused events within a two-hour drive of Chattanooga, making them suitable for day trips or weekend getaways. Music festivals, food festivals and Halloween activities are not included here, but will be part of broader coverage in the weeks to come.
