OXFORD, CT — A still-under-construction apartment complex was heavily damaged in a fire Monday night in Oxford. Multiple crews responded to a report of smoke coming from a four-story apartment complex at Quarry Walk.

The first-arriving crews reported a working fire from the middle units of a four-story apartment complex. A rehab unit was provided from Roxbury EMS while station coverage was provided by Monroe Fire, Great Hill (Seymour) and Middlebury Fire.

“Engine 41 to one side of the building to fight the fire and E-42 to the rear to fight the fire,” officials wrote in a post on Facebook. “Members entered the building to get knocked from the interior when they were met with heavy fire from the roof and ‘open loft area’ of the building. Tower 14 from Seymour was in front of the building for master steam attack, Southbury Truck 1 was on the east side doing a master stream attack. Members were pulled from the building to allow the master steams work and regroup for an interior attack when safe to do so.
