PRETTY CALL. AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH SOME ALPACAS THIS WEEKEND AT THE EASTLAND ALPACAS 17TH ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE. VISITORS WERE ABLE TO FEED THEM AND WALK THEM AROUND THE MOUNT JOY, LANCASTER COUNTY FARM. THE FARM HAS MORE THAN 100 ALPACAS AND ORGANIZERS SAY IT’S A POPULAR PLACE TO VISIT. >> THE EVENT DOES ATTRACT PEOPLE FROM OTHER STATES, AS WELL AS A LOT OF LOCALS, OF COURSE. WE USUALLY HAVE CLOSE TO 10,000 PEOPLE A YEAR, SO WE’VE BEEN HAVING WONDERFUL WEATHER, SO THAT’S A BIG HELP. Open House at Eastland Alpacas

Folks have a chance to get up close and personal with alpacas, as Eastland Alpacas hosts its 17th annual fall open house at the farm on Risser Mill Road in Mount Joy.Visitors are invited to pet, feed, and walk the alpacas around the farm, which has over 100 alpacas.One alpaca was born on the farm Sunday morning. Farm employees decided to name it after one of our WGAL photographers, Carter. This free event features wagon rides, barrel train rides, a stilt-walking balloon artist, and has food for purchase. The open house fun continues next weekend, November 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and November 10, 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
