Mass of the Resurrection for Clement J. Weldon, 85, North English, was held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, North English. He died Thursday, July 7, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Parnell, with military rites.

Clement Joseph Weldon was born Oct. 3, 1930, near Parnell, the son of John and Anna Rita (Cain) Weldon. He graduated from Parnell High School in 1949, and served as a corporal in the Army during the Korean Conflict, from 1952 to 1954.

He married Audrey Lucille Sauter Oct. 29, 1955, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Millersburg. He farmed and worked for the city of North English. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, North English. He enjoyed raising cattle and farming.

Weldon is survived by his wife, Audrey, North English; seven children, Jeffrey (Judy) Weldon, West Des Moines; Thomas (Renee) Weldon, North Liberty; James (Sheila) Weldon, Williamsburg; Anna (Mark) Armstrong, Williamsburg; Willian (Christine) Weldon, Oxford; Mary (Martin) Malloy, Williamsburg, and Barbara (Brian) Jackson, North English; 21 grandchildren, Michael Weldon, Katie Weldon, Amanda (Brad) Miller, Molly (Dave) Lengeman, Mitchell (Keri) Weldon, Amaleah Weldon, Levi Weldon, Clare (Nick) Duffy, Jackie Armstrong, Maggie Armstrong, John Armstrong, Andrea Weldon, Joe Weldon, Alyssa Weldon, Lynna Malloy, Thomas Malloy, Victor Malloy, Calvin Malloy, Luke Jackson, Nate Jackson and Jake Jackson; five great-grandchildren, Mason and Zayden Miller, Amarah Lengeman and Audrey and Cora Duffy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, John Francis “Frank” Weldon, Rita Murphy, Margaret Hanson, Harold Weldon and Dean Weldon.
