Coroner's Office identifies Cedar Grove homicide victim

A man shot and killed in Shreveport's Cedar Grove neighborhood early Sunday has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office.

Michael DeAngelo Wilson, 36, of Shreveport, was shot and mortally wounded just after 4 a.m. in the 400 block of West 74th Street. He was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital where he succumbed to his wounds at 5:36 a.m.

Wilson was positively identified through fingerprint comparison. An autopsy was authorized at Ochsner.

While on scene, Shreveport police officers learned that a juvenile female who was in a nearby residence was struck by stray gunfire while she slept. She was also transported to Ochsner LSU Health Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators with the Homicide and Crime Scene Investigations Unit were summoned and launched their investigation. CSIU collected evidence from the scene and detectives canvassed the neighborhood searching for witnesses. No other information has been released at this time.
