Averill Park student arrested, accused of making threat against school

AVERILL PARK, NY (WRGB) The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office say they have arrested a Averill Park Student, accused of making a threat against the school.

According to the school district, a threat was discovered at dismissal on Monday. The sheriff's office found the threat to not be credible and at no time were there students in danger.

"We are grateful for the relationship and cooperation we have with our school resource officer and the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Department, and for the speed at which they react to safety issues that arise within our district. Please know that we take the safety of our students and staff very seriously", in a statement from the district.

The district says that those who have made threats will face consequences though the school's code of Conduct.
