Union-based Bed Bath & Beyond is permanently closing 200 stores around the country, saying sales have tumbled nearly 50% in the second quarter of the year.

Union-based Bed Bath & Beyond is permanently closing 200 stores around the country, saying sales have tumbled nearly 50% in the second quarter of the year.
The closures will save the company as much as $300 million a year.
The locations, which will close over the next two years, have not been publicly named, and amount to around 20% of its namesake stores.
