Hibs: Referee for Motherwell clash taking charge of first match involving Easter Road side in nearly 12 months

Andrew Dallas, who hasn’t taken charge of a game involving the Easter Road side in close to a year, will oversee the fixture on Saturday December 5.

The 37-year-old whistler’s last involvement with the Capital club was the 2-1 home win against Hamilton on January 22. Paul Hanlon netted the winner after Christian Doidge had cancelled out Alex Gogic’s opener with Dallas dishing out yellow cards to Accies trio Markus Fjortoft, Owain Fon-Williams, and Scott McMann.

Prior to that his last Hibs match was the 4-1 win at St Johnstone on November 9 last year.

Notable Hibs incidents

Dallas was the man in the middle for the 5-5 draw between Hibs and Rangers in May 2018; a game in which he cautioned five players and sent off Jason Holt for the visitors. He also dismissed Florian Kamberi for two yellow cards during a typically heated Edinburgh derby at Tynecastle.

Six players – three from each side – were also booked by Dallas.

Record overall

Dallas has handled 18 Hibs games during his career with the Hibees recording 12 wins, four draws, and just two defeats. In those matches he has booked 25 players, sent off one, and awarded four penalties.

This will be his first appointment involving the Fir Park side and Jack Ross’ outfit, although he has a similar record from his previous games involving the Steelmen.

In 14 games involving Stephen Robinson’s side Dallas has shown 28 yellow cards, one red, and awarded two penalties.

Motherwell have six wins, six losses, and two draws from the 14 matches.
