Police Block Flooded Roadways in Eastern Alabama During Heavy Rain

Roads in Marion County and the surrounding area were flooded during a severe thunderstorm that brought drenching rain and gusting winds to parts of Alabama on Wednesday, March 31, the National Weather Service (NWS) reported.

Footage shared by the Winfield Police Department show floodwaters breaching affecting several town roads.

Winfield Schools were closed Wednesday because of the flooding. Local media reported that the Winfield Police rescued a woman stranded in her home by kayak.
