Eufaula police identify deceased body as man missing since July

EUFAULA, AL (WTVM) - On Wednesday, July 20, 2016, a body of a deceased male was recovered in rural Randolph County, Georgia.

The body was in a severe state of decomposition and was located in a wooded area off Porter Road approximately 53 miles from Eufaula, according to Eufaula police.

The body was taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Central Regional Crime Lab in Macon for forensic testing and identification.

The body has been identified as Mr. Jimmy "Zeke" Glenn, 78, of Eufaula.  Mr. Glenn was reported missing by his family on the morning of July 8.

Mr. Glenn's vehicle was located abandoned that same day.  Evidence recovered through the investigation indicated that Mr. Glenn was the victim of a homicide.

Travis Byfield, 18, of Eufaula has been charged with the murder of Mr. Glenn and remains incarcerated.

The exact manner of death, other than homicide, is not being released at this time.
