WWE axe Arn Anderson after 18 years service days before Ric Flair’s birthday
WRESTLING legend Arn Anderson has reportedly been released by WWE just days before the company celebrate best friend Ric Flair’s 70th birthday.
The WWE Hall of Famer originally worked for the company in the late 80s before going on to fame alongside The Nature Boy as part of World Championship Wrestling’s infamous Four Horseman stable.
Anderson returned to WWE in 2001 following Vince McMahon’s buy-out of WCW and he has remained an ever-present since.
But Pro Wrestling Sheet claim the 60-year-old was let go yesterday.
Anderson was initially used as a commentator before he was moved into a backstage role as an agent and producer.
The icon has also occasionally still performed on-screen duties alongside his long-time pal Flair.
They were both entered in to the Hall of Fame together along with their fellow Horsemen members back in 2012.
The timing of decision to axe “Double A” is particularly strange with WWE set to honour Flair’s milestone with a “birthday celebration” on the next episode of Monday Night Raw.

Anderson’s exit follows the recent arrivals of Jeff Jarrett, Chris “Abyss” Parks and Sonjay Dutt as part of the revamped backstage team in McMahon’s organisation.
WWE have yet to officially announce the much-loved veteran’s release.
