Arts! Arcata — a monthly event aimed at celebrating the visual and performing arts — will be held today from 4 to 8 p.m. at various venues throughout downtown Arcata.
This month, the event will also feature music and art vendors on the Arcata Plaza. Masks are required.
Here are some of the featured locations for January:
• Arcata Artisans, 883 H St. Annual group exhibit, featuring one piece from each of the 24 local artist members. Diverse media will be shown, including jewelry, photography, fiber arts, painting, cast glass, ceramics, stained glass, metal works, printmaking and woodwork.
• Arcata Gallery, 1063 H St. Live painting and DJ music until 9 p.m. with Cassidy Blaze.
• The Garden Gate, 905 H St. Artwork of Augustus Clark and Allison Curtis.
• Hot Knots Boutique, 898 G St. Paintings by Joyce Jonté.
• Moonrise Herbs, 826 G St. Artwork of photographer Peggy Ho.
• Plaza, 808 G St. Paintings by Carol Anderson.
• The Griffin, 937 10th St. Paintings by Joyce Jonté, live models from 6 to 9 p.m.
• Threadbare Dancewear, Jacoby’s Storehouse. Local author Laura East will be on hand introduce her new book, “Our Nutcracker: A Ballerina’s Winter Tale.”
