Gilroy shooter had shotgun, survival gear, clown mask and more in car: warrant

Gilroy Garlic Festival shooter Santino William Legan had a shotgun, a clown mask, wilderness survival gear and more item in his car, according to a newly released search warrant.

Investigators searching Legan’s silver Honda Accord after his spree that killed three and left more than a dozen injured found more than 50 items.

Among the items in the car were a tactical shotgun, ear plugs, binoculars, a pamphlet for the festival, and four different license plates, two from California and two from Nevada.

The shooting came July 28 at the festival, about 30 miles southeast of San Jose

Legan was shot multiple times by responding officers before shooting himself in the head.

Earlier this week, the FBI launched a domestic terrorism investigation into the shooting after a discovering a list of potential targets, including religious groups and federal buildings, Legan had created.
