KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. (WTVF) — Harpeth High School in Cheatham County will be closed for two weeks due to an increase in positive COVID-19 cases.
School officials made the announcement Monday, apologizing for the short notices, adding that "with COVID-19 things don't always go as planned and we are having to make this last-minute decision."
School buses ran their regular schedules Monday afternoon. Students will transition to virtual learning and won't return to the school building until Sept. 29. No athletic practices, games or extra-curricular activities will be held during the two-week cleaning period.
Officials said students must log in daily to be counted present and to receive remote assignments.
Seniors will take the ACT on the scheduled make-up day on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The school will share additional information about the test procedures with students.
Officials said, "It is highly recommended that students stay at home during this 14-day period and not interact with others in the community. If you have concerns, please consult with your family's medical provider. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this together.
