Kanye West's collaborator Vory says he is 'taking a year off' from music while 'battling his own s***'... after his split from Chaney Jones
Kanye West is stepping back from the music industry temporarily, one of his collaborators recently claimed.
In an interview with Complex that was published Tuesday, the rapper Vory — who worked with West on his song Daylight — said the 45-year-old hip hop icon is 'taking a year off' as he works on 'battling his own s***.'
Representatives for West did not immediately return DailyMail.com's request for comment.

'I was just talking to [Kanye] today,' Vory, 24, said in the interview. 'We’ve been talking through my best friend who’s also his assistant, because he hasn’t been wanting to talk to anybody.
'He’s taking a year off, and he was like, "Damn, you think Vory is going to be mad at me if I don’t go to his release party?" And I was like, "Nah, you’re straight, bro,"' he shared.

In addition to their collaboration on his album Lost Souls, which was released last week, Vory is also featured on several tracks on Kanye's Donda album.
He followed up that release with Donda 2, which earned middling reviews and is currently only available on his $200 Stem Player.
'I was originally featured on Donda five times,' Vory explained to Complex. 'And [Kanye] was just like, "Bruh, we damn near got an EP on this thing." So I guess his team decided that three times was enough.'
Daylight was initially part of the tentative Donda track list and was played at the first album listening show, but it was dropped from subsequent iterations before making its way to Vory's solo album.

'The person who made me realize my twisted thoughts weren’t so twisted was Ye, because we think alike,' he said.
Kanye has certainly been keeping a low profile recently after taking a break from his public feuding with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her current boyfriend, Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson.
Following a barrage of posts about the comedian — including a claymation video in which a stand-in for West appeared to decapitate and bury a Davidson-like figure and videos in which he complained about how Kim was raising their oldest daughter North West, eight — the Monster rapper has gone quiet on social media and has cut down on his public appearances.
The interview with Vory was published around the same time that new broke that the Yeezy founder had broken up with his Instagram model girlfriend Chaney Jones.
TMZ reported that he and the 24-year-old beauty had gone their separate ways after a trip to Japan.
It appears to be awkward timing for Chaney, who got the rapper's new legal name 'Ye' tattooed on her wrist just a month earlier.
The two no longer follow each other on Instagram, and she has deleted all photos that featured him from her account.
Prior to moving on with the Kim Kardashian–lookalike, Kanye had been dating the Uncut Gems actress Julia Fox.
Kanye's fans speculated that he had moved on after he was seen last week at a screening of Top Gun: Maverick with a mystery blonde by his side in a photo taken by Below Deck camera operator Everette Motta.
Eagle-eyed fans have since speculated that the woman appears to be the influencer Monica Corgan.
Corgan had shared a photo of herself in a movie theater wearing Balenciaga — one of West's current obsessions — on the day the picture was posted, adding weight to the rumors.
West previously mentioned Corgan's name in a song, indicating that they have known each other in the past, and she has been spotted wearing his merchandise prior to the latest speculation.
