Eric Hartmann will replace VHB’s long-term chief financial officer John Jackson, who retires this month, at the Watertown, Mass.-based design firm. Most recently, Hartmann was senior vice president and chief planning and reporting officer at CDM Smith and also served as its chief financial officer.

Boston-based contractor and real estate firm Suffolk  named Ann Klee as executive vice president. She had been a vice president at General Electric Co.

David Isabelle has joined design firm STV as vice president and Northeast region operations director of its transportation and infrastructure division. Based in New York City, he had been senior vice president and Northeast region team leader at H.W. Lochner, a transportation planning, environmental, design and engineering  firm.

Richard Eitland joined STV as vice president and corporate director of quality. He is based in  Hartford, Conn. Eitland had been a quality systems manager at Synchronicity Systems Solutions and a senior QA manager for Parsons Corp. 
 

Paraic Morrissey has joined Rider Levett Bucknall as a resident manager in the construction cost management consulting  firm’s New York City office. Before joining the company,  he served as a senior consultant for consultant Turner & Townsend. Rider Lavett Bucknall also has promoted Michael O’Reilly to associate principal in Boston.

Marion, Mass.-based South Coast Improvement Co. has named Jacob Robitaille as its director of production. Before joining the design-build general contractor that operates in New England and the MidAtlantic states, he worked as a project manager at Delbrook/JKS, located in Quincy, Mass.

Burns & McDonnell has promoted Jason Cabral to vice president in Wallingford, Conn. The electrical transmission and distribution sector veteran also serves as regional manager of the firm’s transmission and distribution group in the Northeast.

Arup hired Alban Bassuet as associate principal and leader of its acoustics, audio-visual and theater consulting practice in Boston. He previously worked at Arup in New York City between 2000 and 2014. Before rejoining the consulting firm, he founded PresenceLab LLC, which provided pop-up venue products for found spaces and rural environments converted into performance spaces. The firm also named principal Jennifer DiMambro as its science, industry and technology leader for the Americas region; she is based in New York City.

Construction litigator Leslie P. King has joined Carlton Fields as a shareholder in Hartford, Conn. She previously worked as a partner at Murtha Cullina LLP.

Ken Demers now is chief operating officer of Pawtucket, R.I.-based Arden Building Cos. Previously the firm’s senior vice president, he also  serves as senior vice president of Arden Engineering Constructors. John Puniello is named president of Arden Engineering Constructors. He previously served as the firm’s vice president and remains vice president  of construction at Arden Engineering Constructors.

Zetlin & De Chiara LLP associate Max Rayetsky has been named to the advisory board of the Mattone Family Institute for Real Estate Law at St. John’s University School of Law. The New York City attorney represents real estate owners, developers, design firms and contractors.
 

New York City-based Kliment Halsband Architects KHA has promoted three architects to associate positions: K.C. Underwood, Adam Richards and Bradley Sherburne.

Katayoun Sadeghi has joined the New York City office of HNTB Corp. as a national practice consultant and vice president. She was previously an investment director for AECOM Capital.

The Institute of Design and Construction (IDC) Innovation Hub at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering has named Frank DarConte as its inaugural director of applied research.  He had been vice president of planning and development at The DeMatteis Organization and is research professor in NYU Tandon’s Dept. of Civil and Urban Engineering.

Englewood, N.J.-based SQUAN, a provider of design-build services for telecommunications network infrastructure, has promoted Carolyn Hardwick to vice president and general manager; she had been national director of business development.

CetraRuddy has announced two promotions. Erica LiBritz now is an associate principal; she had been a senior associate. Former director of strategy Emmanuelle C. Slossberg now is a principal. She was also appointed to the board of directors for the United Nations-affiliated Consortium for Sustainable Urbanization and was named vice chair of the District Council Membership Committee of the Urban Land Institute’s New York chapter.

After Cauldwell Wingate merged with Bravo Builders, the New York City-based combined firm has named former Bravo president Robert Palumbo as its new president and CEO.

Turner & Townsend has hired Linda Foggie as a senior vice president and leader of its New York office. She was previously a vice president of corporate real estate at Wells Fargo.

 

Maser Consulting PA announced three executive changes. Executive chairman Richard M. Maser has stepped down as CEO, with former president Kevin L. Haney succeeding him. Joseph A. Dopico, the firm’s former division director of civil and site development services, now is chief operations officer.

Lendlease has hired Mike Fratianni as managing director of construction for the Americas, based in New York City. Previously he was chief operating officer of AECOM Hunt.

Jack Kocsis Jr., CEO of Associated Construction Contractors of New Jersey, was appointed to the New Jersey Infrastructure Bank board of directors by state Senate President Steven Sweeney.

Margaret Prestwood Chiou has joined Margulies Hoelzli Architecture as a project executive. She previously ran an independent forensic consulting firm after working as an associate at Thornton Tomasetti.

The International Masonry Training and Education Foundation has named Anthony DiPerna as its national director of apprenticeship and training. He had been president of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, Local 3 New York City.

Sam Schwartz Engineering has made two executive appointments. Michael A. Shamma has been promoted to president from  senior vice president and Northeast area manager. In his new role, he succeeds Sam Schwartz, who remains CEO. Shamma  also is  former chief engineer of the New York State Thruway Authority. Meera Joshi was named a principal and New York general manager at the firm; she had been chair and CEO of the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission and a visiting scholar at New York University’s Rudin Center.

The National Academy of Engineering has elected 87 new members and 18 international members, including several from New Jersey and New York: Rajeev Gautam president and CEO of Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies in Morris Plains, N.J.; Vicki L. Hanson, executive director and CEO of Association for Computing Machinery in Manhattan; Thomas L. Marzetta, a distinguished industry professor of electrical and computer engineering at New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering in Brooklyn; and Maria C. Tamargo, a professor of physical chemistry and inorganic chemistry at City College of New York. The awardees will be formally inducted Oct. 4 at the NAE’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

LeChase Construction Services has hired James McAuliffe as executive vice president and chief financial officer at its Rochester, N.Y., headquarters. He had been chief financial officer and executive director for the pharmaceutical and drug delivery device company NeuroproteXeon.

Greg Janey has been elected chair of the board of trustees at Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston. He is president and owner of Janey Construction Management and Consulting Inc. and is the first African-American to chair Wentworth’s board, which he joined in 2013. Janey also is an adjunct professor at the school and an alumnus. He is a past president of the Massachusetts division of the Construction Management Association of America and former vice chair of CMAA’s national board.

Jaros Baum & Bolles has announced several promotions and one key hire. HVAC department director Michelle DeCarlo and senior associate Cristin Lucena were previously associates. The engineering firm also named eight new associates: Matthew Breitel, Richard Coley, Dustin Hsu, Karl Knehr, Christopher Pell, Dennis Poulos, Melissa Sosa and Michael Towers. JB&B also hired Emily Belote, previously a virtual design and construction engineer at Turner Construction Co., as a director of building information modeling.

Steven McDonald has joined McLaren Engineering Group in Albany, N.Y., as a regional director. He had been a senior projects and operations manager at geospatial solutions firm TerraSond.

Engineering firm LERA has announced three promotions in its New York City office: Seokkwon Jang is elevated to partner from associate partner; Sangho Han to associate partner from senior associate; and Rick Naumann to senior associate from associate.

Zetlin & De Chiara LLP attorney Chengdong “C.D.” Xing has been appointed co-chair of the Asian Affairs Committee of the New York City Bar Association for a term ending in July 2021. Xing, most recently secretary of the association, is a construction lawyer who is dual-qualified in both China and the U.S.

The LiRo Group has promoted Frank Franco and Joseph Grant to senior vice presidents. Franco had been a vice president in New York City for the firm.  Grant directs design services, program management and interiors planning.

Princeton, N.J.-based Joshua Zinder Architecture + Design (JZA+D) has hired four new professionals. Architectural designer Shuoqi Ziong and graphic designer Alexandra Nita had done previous work for the firm. Project architect Julia Compton had been an architectural designer at Wolstenholme Associates. Interior designer Nancie Giardina previously was a junior interior designer at SOSH Architects.

STO Building Group has promoted three leaders to new executive roles in New York City. Robert Leon now is executive vice president of STO’s global services division. Michael Neary now is president of the Structure Tone company within STO; he was chief operating officer of Structure Tone’s New York operations. Eugene White now is STO’s executive vice president of client relations.

Andrew Hlushko  has been named president of Collado Engineering, a White Plains, N.Y., MEP consulting firm. He succeeds firm founder Al Collado, who continues as chairman. Hlushko joined Collado as vice president in 2011. He currently serves on the board of directors and executive board of the ACE Mentor Program of Greater New York and had been  a member of the electrical engineering board of advisors for Manhattan College.
