Sunrisers Hyderabad (118) beat Mumbai Indians (87) by 31 runs in the 2018 Indian Premier League at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Mumbai won the toss and elected to bowl first, but the Indians couldn't complete a chase of just 119, after a mediocre innings from Sunrisers.

Kane Williamson and Yusuf Pathan were the high scorers for Sunrisers, each producing just 29 apiece.

The Indians began their chase with gusto, as Suryakumar Yadav quickly posted 28 runs. Yet a series of lost wickets before they had even hit 50 helped doom the hosts, with Siddarth Kaul and Rashid Khan combining to take five wickets.

Here's what the result means for the points table:

Yadav may have got the hosts' innings off to a bright start, but the Indians still lost three sudden wickets. Among them, captain Rohit Sharma walked after being caught by Shikhar Dhawan.

Sky Sports Cricket relayed an image of the catch:

Evin Lewis had already been sent from the crease after a Sandeep Sharma delivery had too much spin. Ishan Kishan was also caught out as wickets tumbled early.

The Indians were soon 61-4 after Krunal Pandya lost an appeal against lbw following a delivery from Rashid Khan. Kieron Pollard was the next wicket to fall, despite hitting a six with his first swing:

Then it was time for Yadav to walk after managing a solid 34 when he was bowled by Basil Thampi. Mumbai had lost seven wickets but still had a reasonable target of 40 runs off 27 balls.

More wickets followed, though, as Kaul bowled Mayank Markande. It soon got worse for the Indians when Khan bowled a maiden against Pandya, who refused a run off one delivery.

Pandya eventually left the pitch after a paltry showing, per Cricbuzz:

One wicket was all Hyderabad needed to snatch an unlikely win. It duly came when Mustafizur Rahman was caught after slicing another teasing Thampi delivery.

This is one the Indians know they let get away. They were set a chase they should have managed with room to spare, but Sunrisers will feel relieved to have returned to the top three.
