Bahrain: Konkan Singers Club celebrates 38th anniversary with grandeur

Bahrain, 08 Dec 2015: Konkan Singers Club (KSC), one of the oldest expatriate clubs in Bahrain celebrated its 38th anniversary day with grandeur at BaenSang Thai auditorium, here on Friday December 4.
Fr Freddy D’Souza, parish priest of Sacred Heart parish, here was the chief guest of the occasion.
Since December symbolizes festive season the managing Committee organized a fun-filled afternoon to all the members and guests present.
Nirmala Fernandes was taken the charge as master of Ceremonies; she welcomed the guests and members as the Christmas theme was buzzing, the Program started with a melodious carol singing by Sacred Heart parish choir.
Two Santa Clauses were on call for the show, and gave away Christmas gifts to all the kids below 12 year olds and distributed chocolates and sweets to children. Kids danced with Santa and enjoyed.
KSC president Water Noronha welcomed the gathering and thanked those who supported the club and appealed to the members to support the activities of the club by participating. Being the oldest club in Bahrain, the managing Committee honored the Simon and Pricilla Machado couple for their contributions to help the underprivileged in Bahrain and back home in India.
KSC general secretary Joel D’Sa briefed about the life of Simon Machado from his humble beginning and the hard fought journey to Mumbai and his life in Bahrain and elaborated the contribution made by them to the society through which many lives has changed. They have brought smiles on the faces most underprivileged people. Their contribution towards church activities in commendable, Konkan Singer Club thanked them for their immense support and kindness.
Fr Freddy D’Souza, Walter Noronha and past president of the Club Henry D’ Almeida honored Simon and Precilla Machado, and their children Shawn and Shaina Machado during the programme.

Outgoing Committee members Steven D’Souza and Robert Fernandes were felicitated with memento for their dedicated service.
The stage was set for the entertainment; there were many dances by children and adults alike, which were appreciated by the crowd. The comedians of the club sent the crowd on a laughing riot by their entertaining skits. Also members showed their singing talents by way of singing beautiful songs.
Many membership draws were conducted during the programme, DJ Francis entertained the crowd with his rocking music. All the entertainment section was co-ordinated by Sujay Pinto with his dedicated team, and choreography for dances was done by Ajay Lobo. Ruben D’Souza took charge of the photography. Avinash Fernandes, assistant general secretary proposed vote of thanks.
A sumptuous buffet lunch was enjoyed by all. It was a memorable day for all Konkan Singer Club members present.
