A man is facing charges for allegedly shooting his own brother in Eskdale, West Virginia.

Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office say it happened on Sandy Lane just after 7:30 Sunday evening.

Mark Allen Auber II, 32, of Eskdale, is charged with malicious wounding and domestic battery.

The suspect called 911 to report his own crime. Deputies say he shot his brother, Michael Anthony Auber.

The two were allegedly arguing outside a house when the shooting happened. Mark claimed he shot his brother in self-defense.

Mark is accused of shooting Michael two times then kicking him while he was lying on the ground.

Michael's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening according to deputies, but he was taken to a hospital. Deputies say Michael was shot in a leg and his left arm.

Law enforcement is on scene of a reported shooting in Eskdale, West Virginia.

Metro 911 tells WSAZ it happened in the 200 block of Sandy Lane Sunday evening just after 7:30.

Metro says a suspect has been detained in connection with the possible shooting.

According to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office, one person was taken to the hospital with what's believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Metro 911 adds the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating. We'll continue to update this story as we learn more information.
