Coronavirus CT: Breakthrough Cases Near 40%

CONNECTICUT — The gap between normal and breakthrough cases of the coronavirus in Connecticut is narrowing.

Out of the 2,080 cases of COVID-19 recorded by the state Department of Public Health in the past seven days, 794, or 38.2 percent, were among residents who had already been completely vaccinated. That number is up from 31.9 percent, reported by DPH on Friday.

Hospitalizations dropped 18 beds over the weekend. As of Monday, there are 264 residents being treated for the virus inside Connecticut hospitals.
