Foundations give big boosts to some Knox County schools, but others are left behind

Tennessee basketball ranks fourth nationally in average attendance in 2018-19

One of the best seasons in Tennessee basketball history resulted in the Vols ranking among the nation's leaders in attendance.

Tennessee averaged 19,034 fans last season at Thompson-Boling Arena, which has a capacity of 21,678.

The Vols have won 26 straight home games dating to a Jan. 2, 2018 loss to Auburn.

UT ranked behind Syracuse, Kentucky and North Carolina in average attendance.

Tennessee had a total of 342,615 fans attend home games in 2018-19, which ranked thnationally behind Syracuse and Kentucky in total attendance.

UT matched a program record with 31 wins in coach Rick Barnes' fourth year in Knoxville.

UT ranked eighth in 2017-18 attendance with an average of 16,209. The Vols were No. 20 in 2016-17 with 13,636.
