Imam Hashmiyu Abudul-Rahman, the Chief Imam of Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipal area, has appealed to parents and guardians to support the development of the talents of their children.

The Chief Imam was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Adoagyiri-Sabon-Zongo, a suburb of Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality of the Eastern Region after the Eid-Fitr Prayers, where he presented a gift to Jawad Ibrahim, a four-year old kindergarten pupil of the Roman Catholic School at Adoagyiri for completing the recitation of the Quran in six months.

The Chief Imam said it took many adults two years to learn how to recite the Quran and therefore appealed to the Minister for Zongo and Inner-City Development to help establish an Arabic school to the senior high school level at the Adoagyiri-Sabon-Zongo.

This, he said would help the children in the area to also benefit from the free education programme.

The Chief Imam explained that the presentation also formed part of the 40th Anniversary Prayer of his grandfather, Alhaji Yakubu, former Chief Imam of Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality.
