CALEDONIA -- Alaina Wolff surpassed the career 2,000-point barrier Saturday as the Jackson County Central Huskies edged Caledonia 78-76 in a wild 3-point shooting girls basketball extravaganza.
In a game where 30 3-point shots were made, JCC led 45-26 at halftime but had to rally from a 7-point second half deficit to win. The game was tied 76-76 on a 3-point shot by the Huskies. With eight seconds remaining Wolff pulled down a rebound and scored with only a second remaining. The game-winning shot bounced around the rim a few times before settling in.
Wolff tallied her 2,000th point in the first half and finished with 29. Teammate Sadie Voss scored 25 points and converted seven 3-point shots -- which tied a school record previously held by her and Maci Farmer.
Ava Privet scored 22 points for Caledonia, Alexis Schroeder had 21 and Paige Klug finished with 18.
Caledonia made 17 3-point shots for the game, including 12 in the second half. JCC, 10-14 on the season, totaled 13 3-pointers.
