911 caller describes aftermath of fatal crash

TITUS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The Titus County Sheriff's Office has released 911 calls about a fatal wreck in Titus County and an additional call about a reckless driver.

The calls were reported late Thursday night by drivers on U.S. Highway 271 who reported seeing the driver of an 18-wheeler weaving across the road into the opposite lane.

That same night, DPS troopers responded to a fatal crash on Highway 271 involving an 18-wheeler, sedan and a Mount Pleasant Independent School District bus. The bus was transporting the boys' track team. DPS is investigating to see if the driver in the report was connected with the crash.

A trooper who responded to the scene said the department believes the driver callers reported as driving erratically may be the driver who was involved in the wreck.

Two people died in the crash, including the driver of the 18-wheeler, who has been identified by DPS as Bradley Ray Farmer, 50, from Bogard, Missouri. Volunteer coach Angelica Beard, 30, also died in the crash.

According to Mount Pleasant ISD Superintendent Judd Marshall, the wreck occurred when the northbound 18-wheeler swerved into oncoming traffic. The driver of the southbound school bus, which was carrying the boy's track team, swerved to the right in order to avoid a head-on collision.
