Coronavirus In Ohio: Uptick In Deaths Continue
More than 40 COVID-19 deaths were confirmed Wednesday among Ohioans.
COLUMBUS, OH — Ohio's surge of COVID-19-related deaths continued Wednesday.
In the past 24 hours, health officials confirmed 49 Ohioans died from COVID-19 complications. Since the start of the pandemic, 4,555 Ohioans have died because of coronavirus.
On Tuesday, Ohio hit a four-month high in COVID-19 deaths. Eighty-seven deaths were confirmed that day from COVID-19 complications.

Officials also confirmed 1,033 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. That's on par with the state's average of 1,092 new cases per day in Ohio.

Hospitalizations and intensive care admissions were also up slightly on Wednesday. Here are all of Wednesday's numbers:
- New cases: 1,033
- New deaths: 49
- New hospitalizations: 79
- New ICU admissions: 23
