MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — As Gov. Wolf ordered all schools, community centers, entertainment venues, and some public spaces closed due to coronavirus, he also "strongly recommended" that nonessential local businesses shut down.

The closures were mandated through March 27. There are 17 presumptive positive cases of coronavirus in Montgomery County, including four new cases announced Friday morning. There are 28 cases all told in Pennsylvania.

Essential infrastructure like healthcare facilities, gas stations, and food stores will remain open, but most nonessential facilities have announced closures. A significant exception to that is one of the most highly trafficked locations in Montgomery County: the King of Prussia Mall.

King of Prussia Mall, along with the other Simon Mall property, Montgomery Mall will not shut down. They cited that Gov. Wolf "did not define what nonessential retail is."

Here's a partial list of some of the major locations that have shut down:

Elmwood Park Zoo, through March 27.

All Montgomery County public libraries, through March 29.

Montgomery County prisons SCI Phoenix and Montgomery County Correctional Facility are closed to visitors.

Oaks Expo Center, through March 27. This closure was mandated by Gov. Wolf, as the Center is considered an entertainment venue. "While we are still required to be closed until at least Friday, March 27th, we are working closely with affected events to reschedule them at a later date. Rescheduled dates can be found on our website's calendar www.phillyexpocenter.com as well as the show's websites as they become available."

All PennDOT driver license centers in Montgomery County through March 27. This includes King of Prussia, Norristown, Huntingdon Valley, Harleysville, Ardmore, and Pottstown, through March 27. Details here.

Plymouth Meeting Mall, through March 27.

Valley Forge Casino, through March 27.

Willow Grove Mall through March 27.

Many township and county-level events for the next few weeks are also closed. All Montgomery County parks and historic site events for March and April have been canceled or rescheduled. More details here.

In addition, many bars and restaurants remain open, though they have canceled concerts and other large public events set to occur within their spaces.

Small businesses impacted by these closures are eligible to receive disaster assistance loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. More information on these loans is available here.
