Kane County Jail Therapy Dog Completes Training Program
Here's what the Kane County Sheriff's Office said is next for jail therapy dog KC.
KANE COUNTY, IL — Nearly two months after being introduced to Kane County, the Kane County Jail's therapy dog, KC, has successfully passed his training program, the sheriff's office announced Monday. The sheriff's office shared news of the new Jail Therapy Program's first furry recruit back in November. The new puppy was named KC by staff members and, according to the sheriff's office, will live in the jail after training and some maturing.
According to the sheriff's office, it's time for KC to help detainees and "ease anxiety during incarceration and spread hope, throughout."
The sheriff's office also recently announced an update in its "A Way Out" program, which provides non-punitive support and treatment center connection to people suffering from drug addiction.
