MTV’s 2017 Video Music Awards are sliding into your DMs.
Starting Friday (Aug. 18), fans can put in their vote for the Best New Artist category through a brand-new Twitter bot. By sending a direct message to @MTV, fans can not only place their vote, but also share their top choice for the award directly with their followers.
Voting for the Best New Artist award, presented by MTV and Taco Bell, is open now until the Aug. 27 event, when the top two contenders will be announced during the live pre-show. From there, fans will go head-to-head with hashtag voting, until the winner is crowned during the main show.
Judging from this year’s list of nominees, it will be a tough call. Noah Cyrus, SZA, Julia Michaels, Kodak Black, Khalid and Young M.A are all up for the award, which has gone in the past to Fifth Harmony, One Direction and Justin Bieber. You can vote here.
