A shooting at a Homewood restaurant late Friday morning left one man dead.
The gunfire erupted at 11:53 a.m. at Seafood King Cajun Style restaurant on State Farm Parkway.
Homewood police Sgt. John Carr said the victim was a patron of the restaurant and was with other people. Some kind of altercation took place in the parking lot, and the victim was shot one time in the chest.
He was taken to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police were given a description of the suspects’ vehicle, which was a Ryder box truck. Officers spotted the truck on West Valley Avenue, and a brief chase pursued.
The truck was stopped on Barber’s Court and West Valley Avenue. Two men were taken into custody.
Carr said they don’t yet know a motive, but said the suspects are believed to be acquainted with the victim or the people with whom he was with at the restaurant.
