The Bahrain Cricket Festival at the National Stadium last night was a smashing hit as former international cricket stars from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and the West Indies showcased their skills playing along with some of the young talents on the island.
The day-long event, billed as a ‘fun-filled family day’, was held under the patronage of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, chairman of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and president of Bahrain Olympic Committee, and in conjunction with Ministry of Youth and Sports and Bahrain Cricket Academy.
Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq led the Bahrain Falcons while Marlon Sameuls of the West Indies the Bahrain Eagles. The former team won the T20 match in front of a packed stadium.
