Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 4: Gan Thiam Poh on affordable electric vehicles

03:04 Min
As more drivers switch to electric vehicles (EVs), Singapore will need to train and certify a new generation of technicians to maintain and repair such vehicles. This concern was raised by MP Gan Thiam Poh in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 3). Mr Gan also asked how the Government will make EVs more affordable for car owners, especially families with young children and the elderly. He said the higher cost of owning such vehicles may be an additional burden.
