Two area men allegedly involved in a March 9 incident at a Bryan bar that injured five pedestrians, a Bryan man accused of aggravated sexual assault of a child after a teen told police he had assaulted her several times, and a Bryan man accused of punching and kicking two police officers were among 80 people indicted on felony charges Thursday by a Brazos County grand jury.
An indictment by grand jury is not an indication of guilt. Grand jurors meet twice monthly to determine whether there is enough evidence to move forward with prosecution in a case.
• According to Bryan police, Gaspar Salas, 27, of Hearne turned himself in March 12 on a warrant for aggravated assault of a deadly weapon. Salas is accused of hitting Joe Ruiz with a beer bottle at Bar 69 just before Ruiz allegedly got in his car and hit the bystanders and another vehicle while leaving. Two women were treated and released at CHI St. Joseph Hospital.

Ruiz, 33, was indicted Thursday of charges of three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection to the incident.
Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon is a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The two were released from the Brazos County Jail on March 13 — Ruiz on $20,000 bond, and Salas on $30,000 bond.
• Bryan police say a school resource officer called authorities on March 1 and said a teen reported that 38-year-old Ezequiel Pintor Guadarrama had recently touched her without her consent. The teen later said that he had assaulted her in the past, including when she was 7 years old.
Guadarrama was arrested in early April and was indicted Thursday with aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
He was released from the Brazos County Jail on April 3 on a $12,000 bond.
• According to Bryan police, officers were patrolling the parking lot of a local motel Aug. 6 and saw a man and woman standing next to a vehicle. One officer recognized Jordan Matthew Candee, 25, though Candee said his name was “Matt Barnes,” police said.
As the officer attempted to arrest Candee, police say Candee struggled against him. A second officer moved in to help, and Candee pulled away. According to authorities, Candee punched one officer in the shoulder before kicking his thighs and forearms. He then hit and punched the second officer’s face, officials said. Candee was eventually subdued.
Both officers suffered minor bruises, and one officer had a bloody scratch to the face.
Police said Candee was found to have crystal methamphetamine when searched.
He was indicted Thursday on two counts of assault on a public servant, second-degree felonies punishable by up to 20 years in prison. He was also indicted on first-degree felony drug charges.
He remains in the Brazos County Jail on $69,000 bond.
