A Catonsville man has died after a multi-vehicle crash on I-95 in Halethorpe Tuesday, police said.

Luke Souders, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene around 3 p.m. after the car he was driving, a 2007 Honda Accord, was rear-ended by a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Dylan Shields, 29, of Halethorpe.

Maryland State Police say when Shields hit Souders’ car, it caused a chain reaction involving two other vehicles, a Kia Forte and a Volkswagen GTI. The driver of the Volkswagen was transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Shields and the driver of the Kia Forte refused medical treatment, police said. All vehicles were traveling north on I-95 prior to exit 49A, according to law enforcement.

State police are consulting with the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office regarding charges, which will depend on the outcome of the ongoing investigation, police said.
