Mizzou Wrestling Adds Seth Nitzel to 2019 Singing Class

Nitzel is a 184-pounder from Stilwell, Kansas

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Wrestling head coach Brian Smith has announced the addition of Seth Nitzel to its 2019 signing class, announced Wednesday (Dec. 11). Nitzel, a 184-pound prospect from Stilwell, Kan., signed his National Letter of Intent and is another key addition to Mizzou's 2019 signing class, that ranked fourth nationally prior to today's signing.

  • 2019 Class 5A runner-up at 170 pounds, his first state medal
  • Helped Blue Valley SW to a third-place finish at the 2019 state championships
  • 2019 Fall Brawl Tournament Champion at 182 pounds, defeating No. 14-ranked Damen Pape in the finals
  • Earned the Summer Scuffle 182-pound title in June, 2019
  • Claimed his 100th career high school with a technical fall on Dec. 6, 2019, during his senior season
  • 2019 EKL Champion and Regional Champion
  • Posted 39 wins as a junior during the 2018-19 season with 16 of those going for pins
  • Scored 176 team points, third-most on the team, as a junior and was also third on his team with a pair of technical falls
  • Wrestled for head coach Cody Parks at Blue Valley Southwest High School
